ANDY York Photography is celebrating 25 years of business.
Andy and Christine York who own the photography shop in the Littlebrook Centre have been in business in Melksham for 25 years. The services they provide have developed and expanded over the years but the customer service and quality of work has remained second to none since 1992.
“There have been a lot of changes over the past 25 years in what is required from the professional photographer on the high street,” they said. “With new technology, people are doing a lot more for themselves, so we have had to adapt to provide the services that people still need a professional to do for them.
“When we started offering the picture framing service in 2006, this was only an addition to our photography but in more recent years it has become a big part of the business. We have been asked to frame some pretty unusual items; butterflies, footballs, a memorabilia collection are just some of the examples which can be seen on our website.
“Many people still need mounts and frames made to fit unusual sized artwork etc. We can help them choose colours and designs from a select range of mouldings and mount boards. Our restoration service has also grown over the years.”
Andy has over 15 years’ experience of framing and restoration and provides a quality service. All the work is done by him on the premises, your precious pictures are not sent away!
“We also have our passport/ID photo service which is still needed – especially with the requirements getting stricter. We can provide the photos as prints and/or digital format.
“We are happy for people to call in just to browse our varied photographic art, a collection we have expanded over the years with framed prints, greetings cards and clocks, all in our own unique style. We also have the Melksham Memories to reminisce. We love hearing the stories and history of the town and its families.
“We have met and made friends with many people over the years and even with all the changes, our customers show us they still need a shop like ours by continuing to support us. For that, we would like to say a big thank you.”
