Melksham and Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network (PCN) is inviting patients aged 45-49 to receive their Covid-19 vaccination at Spencer Sports and Social Club from the week commencing 26th April.
Details of clinic dates and appointment times will be available shortly, but in the meantime, the PCN is asking those patients aged 45-49 wanting to receive their vaccine locally to register their interest.
“You will be aware that over the weekend the Health Secretary announced that the target of offering a Covid-19 vaccination to all patients over 50 years has been met,” says the PCN.
“We are delighted that Melksham and Bradford on Avon PCN has played its part in making this happen for our patients. We have now received confirmation that the next phase of the programme can be rolled out.
“The National Booking Service has begun sending letters/texts to all people in England in the age range of 45-49 year olds offering a vaccine at the large vaccination sites.
“In addition, our PCN is now also able to offer vaccination appointments locally at Spencer Sports and Social Club from week commencing 26th April.
“Clinic dates and times are currently being organised and we have set up a dedicated telephone line for patients who wish to register to receive the vaccination in Melksham.
“As soon as the dates are confirmed, we will send out text invitations to patients who can then book their own choice of date/time direct into the appointments section.
“In the meantime, please register your interest in receiving your vaccine locally. Please telephone 01225 896653 and leave your contact details: name, date of birth, and mobile telephone number.
“The speed of the vaccination programme means even more people will soon develop strong protection from serious illness from Covid-19 infection, saving countless lives and significantly reducing pressure on hospitals.”
The local PCN is known as Melksham & Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network, and consists of the three GP practices Bradford on Avon & Melksham Health Partnership, Giffords Surgery and Spa Medical Practice – together they cover a population of c.48,000 residents. The vaccination programme is being delivered at Spencer Sports and Social Club.
