MELKSHAM Motor Spares, the independent distributor of quality automotive parts and accessories, is proud to be celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2018.
First established in the town in Church Street in 1968, they are now based on Bowerhill Industrial Estate, with a further branch in Frome.
A year of celebrations are planned to mark the company’s milestone birthday and it is the company’s aim to include fundraising for Cancer Research UK as a part of the planned ‘festivities’.
Financial director, Alison Cook, said of the fundraising efforts, “We are very proud to have reached our 50th year and wanted to honour the memory of our founders, Bryan and Mary Mattock, who both sadly passed away in 2013 from cancer. We felt fundraising for Cancer Research UK would be a fitting tribute, in our 50th year, to their lifetime’s work and dedication, which built the foundations of our success.
“We have also had several staff members diagnosed with cancer in 2017, which has been a timely reminder of how cancer touches so many of our lives. Survival rates are increasing and progress is being made, so hopefully our fundraising will go a little way to helping with this ongoing research.”
Melksham Motor Spares are no strangers to fundraising; in 2015, the company spent a year fundraising for Dorothy House and raised over £6,500.00.
Managing director, Phil Dodd added, “We very much hope to replicate the previous success of our fundraising efforts in the coming year. We are incredibly fortunate to have an amazing team of staff, fantastic customers and suppliers who have always supported us and we know will embrace our efforts again for this worthy cause.
“It is important to us as a company to be able to ‘give something back’ and for 2018, our anniversary year, supporting Cancer Research UK is an important goal.”
