Melksham Lions have presented a cheque for £250 to Larkrise Community Farm.
The charity-run community farm explained their work saying, “In school term-time we welcome 45-50 students through our doors each week. These are mainly young people aged from 7 upwards, although we do have some more mature people aged up to 65. We draw our students from an approximate 30-mile radius of Trowbridge.
“They are referred to us for a variety of reasons; some have special educational needs, and others have a specific interest in animal care. Some pupils have had difficulties with school but thrive in the practical and hands-on environment that we can offer. We also have people attending who live in community care homes.”
