MELKSHAM Lions Club has a new president, Phil Gaskell.
Phil takes over from Jaki Stephen who told Melksham News “I have come to the end of my year as president of Melksham Lions Club and it has been a great year, not just for the club but for Melksham.
“With Covid restrictions lifted we were able to get out and meet you all again at events such as the Food and River Festival, bringing Santa and his reindeers out to see the children, a hugely successful Easter Egg Hunt and taking part in the amazing Melksham Carnival where Santa took time out of his holidays to join in. We welcomed some new members too.
“It truly was an amazing year, made possible by you, the people of Melksham, who come out and support us at our fundraising events. Thank you.
“Our new president is Phil Gaskell who has been a member of the club for some years and it is with great pride that I handed over the chain of office to Phil at our handover dinner on the 1st July. He will be a great president and we wish him every success for the coming year.”
