THE White Hart pub in Atworth will hold its annual charity music festival, @Fest next Saturday, 1st July, and with the line-up recently announced, it’s set to be a great event.

Now in its eighth year, the popular music festival raises thousands of pounds for Dorothy House Hospice, with last year’s event raising £1,175.

The line-up features local bands such as, The Perfect Fools, The Mother Pluckers and the The Strummingbirds and this year’s headline act is Indecision.

The six-piece covers band hope you are ready to party with them! Their set is an eclectic mix of genres, ranging from he mellow harmonies of Crowded House to Billy Idol and Green Day. They play ballads, rock n roll, 80s best including Duran Duran, Blondie and The Bangles and a good scattering of up-to-date greats such as  Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs and The Killers.

The White Hart promise to deliver nine hours of live music, an all-day barbecue, children’s activities and even proper cider. The White Hart will be transforming the car park to create the  small music festival on Saturday 1st July  from 1pm-10pm. The full programme of events is as follows:-

1pm – Tea & Biscuits

A combination of the quirky tea drinking solo artist Just Parsons and fingerstyle guitar player Ned Smith, they come to bring you a new take on the style of acoustic music, or what some may call ‘Simon & Garfunkel on meth’.

2pm – The Bridge

The Bridge are a covers band with over 15 years’ experience performing at functions, weddings, parties and pubs. They have a mix of female and male singers and a back catalogue of over 200 classic tracks from the last 50 years.

3pm – Fall From Ruin

Fall from Ruin formed around spring 2016. They class themselves as hard/melodic rock/metal band drawing influences from Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry, Pantera, Queen and Dream Theatre. A 4 piece band consisting of Sam Bailey on drums/vocals Mike Pasby on guitar/vocals, Jason Sidebottom on guitar, Dan Heath on bass.

4pm – The Mother Pluckers & Strumming Birds

The Mother Pluckers – six fun-loving females with tiny guitars. They say, “What we lack in musical prowess and talent, we make up for with enthusiasm, laughter and cheese! No decade is safe from our rampage of musical mayhem!”

The Strummingbirds – A group of eight women brought together by their love of the uke and their ability to laugh at! The Strumming Birds have been getting together once a month since the summer of 2016 to recreate some well-known and loved tunes.

5pm – Perfect Fools

The five piece Perfect Fools from Corsham bring a riotous combination of sax-driven blues, rock and some ace classic pop to the festival. Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of the Corinthian Casuals. The Perfect Fools deliver a cool mix of classic rock and heart felt blues and beyond.

6pm – Sitting Tenants

The Sitting Tenants, British R&B psych-garage-rock, with original material.

Two guitars, throbbing bass, steamhammer drums and wailing blues harp. Noisy feedback, harmonies. Inspired sometimes by The Pretty Things The Kinks or The Downliners Sect.

7pm – Still Going Strong

‘Still Going Strong Band (SGS Band for short) comprises of a trio of very experienced musicians (Tony – lead guitar and vocals, his wife Mitch – bass guitar, keyboards, and harmonies, and Mac – drummer).  They say, “We are a classic rock covers band.  Our set list comprises of those all-time favourite rock tracks from the 60s, 70s, and beyond.”
