A decision has been made to close Melksham & District Young Farmers Club, following a meeting which was held at the end of September
Helen Darvill, Wiltshire YFC county organiser said,
“In recent years, Melksham YFC has had difficulty in recruiting volunteers to take on the leadership and encourage membership back up.
“Over the past 12 months the advisory committee has attempted to gain new members with a recruitment drive, but to little avail.
“Even though we had a few new prospective members, no-one was able to volunteer to help with the running of the club and its activities
“After much discussion, we sadly came to the decision to close for a while and then see if we can get some fresh blood to re-invigorate the club and get it going again in a few years’ time.”
