THE Bowerhill factory site of Knorr Bremse Rail Systems (UK) Ltd, who are a world leader in Advanced Rail Systems, hosted a visit by 19 members of Melksham Chamber and Melksham Without Parish Council, last month.
Melksham Chamber reports, “The group was given a presentation on the company, who moved to Melksham in 2005, followed by a guided tour of the facility taking in the production lines for manufacturing and maintaining rail braking systems. This was then followed by a superb buffet lunch.
“The visit gave an in-depth insight into the work that Knorr Bremse undertake at the factory and one of the main impressions the group took away from the visit was the feeling of “efficient calm” on the shop floor and the way that Knorr Bremse encourage their staff to develop their skills and progress through the company. The Chamber would like to thank Nick Brailey and his team for their hospitality and hosting a truly fascinating and interesting visit.
“The next Melksham Chamber site visit will be on Tuesday 24th April to the new Wiltshire Air Ambulance HQ at Oakmarsh Farm, between Melksham and Semington, and due for completion in May.
“It will be a one-hour tour followed by light refreshments. All welcome.”
