MELKSHAM Town Council is encouraging the community and local organisations to find out more about volunteering as part of Volunteers Week.
The council have also taken the time to praise all of Melksham’s volunteers who give their time to the town.
New Community Engagement Officer for the town council, Debbie Bentley, said, “We are lucky to have access to a great database for registering and finding vacancies locally. So, whether you are an organisation in need or you are looking for ways to volunteer in your town please visit the database which can be found via the town council website (www.melksham town.co.uk/town-council/ supporting-voluntary-sector-groups) and social media pages or via the Community First website (www. communityfirst.org.uk/ volunteering/).
“We would also like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest thanks to all the volunteers who offer their time and support to the many charities, organisations and groups within our town. You do wonderful work and we are proud to have you within our community. “
