MELKSHAM Shed Club is due to be launched with its first public meeting.
The event is to take place on Wednesday 20th November at 7.30pm at the Foresters Arms.
The UK Men’s Shed Association was formed in March 2013 and they describe what shed club is all about, “Shed Club is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. Shed Club offers this to a group of such men (and others!) where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where people come together to work.”
Whether you are an individual or an organisation who would like to get involved in the Melksham Shed idea we hope that you will support the public meeting. In the meantime please contact the ‘Melksham Seniors’ – Brian Warwick for further information on 01225 792959 or e-mail melkseniors55 @gmail.com
