MELKSHAM Lions’ president, Jim Whyborn, presented cheques to three enthusiastic young people during their last meeting at The Pilot.
The aim as a Lions club is to help local people and young people in the area and the club gave £100 to twin brothers George and Will, and £100 to Olivia.
Olivia is currently on her gap year and has been selected to go to Nepal to volunteer with UK Government International Citizen Service (ICD). She will be working with the charity Restless Development and needs funding for her trip.
George and Will have also been fundraising to enable them to go to the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia in the summer of 2019.
Sue Whyborn, on behalf of Melksham Lions said, “We gave both projects £100 and one of our aims as a Lions club is to help local people/youths in our area. We decided to help them because both parties have done a lot of fundraising themselves.”
