THE family of the late Michelle Phillips – who was tragically killed in a car accident in Devon, when she was aged 26 – are inviting people to join them at a special remembrance service for road traffic victims.
The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims service, organised by national charity RoadPeace, will be held on Sunday 18th November at The Guildhall in Bath at 11am.
Michelle’s mother, Sandra Phillips says, “After the ceremony we have time for refreshments before a short walk through the town to St.James Park, which is in the centre of Bath to spend time there to lay flowers (given to us by the charity) at the ‘RoadPeace’ memorial.”
The charity RoadPeace says, “This day focuses on both the overall scale and the individual devastation caused by road deaths and injuries and the impact upon families and communities around the world.
“Almost 4,000 people are killed and many hundreds of thousands injured on roads throughout the world every day. Many more have to cope with bereavement or the effects of injury and thus become part of the huge group of people affected by road carnage.”
