Local firm, Melksham Motor Spares, are celebrating being awarded the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) ‘Car Distributor of the Year’ 2018.
The company, who are one of the South West’s largest independent motor factors, received the award in front of around 600 guests at the IAAF annual awards ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, in Milton Keynes on 6th December.
The win underlines Melksham Motor Spares’ position as a leader in the industry, with the outcome being particularly significant, as the results were decided directly by aftermarket professionals and IAAF members voting through the IAAF’s website. The win tops off what has been an extremely busy and successful year for the company who celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018. Established in 1968, the company has grown to become one of the most prominent businesses in the area, operating from two branches in Melksham and Frome, employing over 80 staff and managing a fleet of 28 delivery vehicles.
Managing director, Phil Dodd said, “To have been nominated and recognised nationally for this prestigious industry award in our 50th anniversary year was a huge honour. To have won it is the icing on the cake to a truly fantastic year and is testament to our commitment to be the best! Other nominees included much larger companies with nationwide coverage, so it is even more of an achievement to have won.”
Alison Cook, finance director added, “We’re over the moon to win this award, to receive recognition for all of the team’s hard work is fantastic. 2018 has been yet another busy year and we’re delighted that our hard work has paid off. For us to be acknowledged in this way by industry peers is extremely humbling. We are so incredibly grateful to all our fantastic customers, suppliers, and of course, our brilliant staff, who support us. To everyone who took the time to vote for us, we are truly grateful.”
The IAAF provide a respected and vital function promoting and striving to secure the future of the independent automotive aftermarket. They represent the entire automotive aftermarket chain, comprising manufacturers, suppliers, warehouse distributors, buying groups, motor factors and independent garages.
