A MOTHER-daughter duo will be abseiling 200ft down Avon Gorge on Sunday 14th April to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
After having read an article in the Melksham News inviting people to take on the challenge, Julie Cannings and her daughter, Alice Cannings, knew that this would be a great way to do something together, but also raise money for a good cause.
Julie said, “I have wanted to do this since I was 40, I now feel like this is a good time for me. Alice wants to do the abseil to experience something new, it’s not every day you go abseiling 200ft down a gorge! Alice wants to raise as much money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance as possible so they can keep saving lives. We are both nervous but also very excited to experience this.”
Wiltshire Air Ambulance said, “This is an exhilarating new event enabling our supporters to challenge themselves, abseiling 200ft down the Avon Gorge.
“A thrilling new event for us. This physical challenge event will have you facing and conquering your fears, whilst raising money for our lifesaving charity.
“This will be an unforgettable experience with an even better view, taking in the Avon Gorge and Clifton Suspension Bridge.”
