SEVEN members of staff at Blenheim House Care Home, Shurnhold, were honoured last month for their long-service.
Awards were given to staff members who had been with the home from 11 to 36 years.
Jennifer Minshall, who was recognised for 36 years’ service, told Melksham News, “It doesn’t seem like that long, time flies!”
Margaret Woodman, who was recognised for 35 years’ service, added, “I don’t want to retire at the moment – I will wait for Jennifer – when one of us goes the other one will follow! But it feels strange, like Jennifer said, it doesn’t feel that long, it has gone quick.”
Other awards were given to Mary Ponting and Christine Cousins for 11 years’ service; Diane Franklin and Valerie Patterson for 19 years’ service; and Laura Mackenzie for 20 years’ service.
The care home, which was formerly known as Sampford Care Home until 2013 when new owners Majesticare took over, hosted a special ceremony to honour the group of long-serving staff members with special guest, mayor cllr Adrienne Westbrook.
