Park pathway resurfaced

A TROUBLESOME park pathway has been resurfaced. 

The footpath between Murray Walk and the Adventure Centre, which runs beside the River Avon, had been flagged by residents as “dangerous” due to a number of potholes along its length, made worse by flooding. 

At last week’s area board meeting it was reported by Wiltshire councillor Phil Alford, who is also a town councillor, that the path has now been resurfaced. 

The works were funded by the area board, who awarded a grant of £5,000 at their meeting in June towards the cost of repairs.  

Community engagement manager, Peter Dunford, added, “Hopefully that will be good for several years now. It’s an important pathway used intensively as part of the parkrun circuit – it was dangerous and liable to flooding.”
