RESIDENTS of Wharf Court have raised over £800 to help support Ukrainian refugees affected by the Russian invasion of their country.
A total of £830 was raised, which will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The residents held two fundraising events – a coffee morning that raised £202; and last week a tombola and raffle, which raised £628.
“We were absolutely amazed when we counted up the money,” said Wharf Court resident Gill Miller. “People have been so generous.”
