OLDER people in Melksham are being asked to share their memories of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
“Age UK Wiltshire have received a grant of £9,900 to create a record of older people’s jubilee memories during the Queen’s reign, to music,” reports Sue Mortimer.
“Melksham is lucky enough to have been chosen to join up with Celebrating Age UK – Song for the Jubilee. It will be great fun to take part in.
“If you want to join in and share your memories, you need to be available to attend the Riverside (formerly Riverside Club) for 1.5 hours on Tuesday mornings. The project is going to run for three consecutive Tuesdays, 10am to 11,30am (doors open 9.30am) starting on Tuesday 3rd May.
“For further details contact me on 07719 935 883. Melksham Community Meals is also serving lunch at the Riverside on these days, 12pm to 2pm (last orders 1.30pm). Anyone taking part in the project are welcome to stay for lunch.”
