SPENCER Melksham Bowls Club got off to a good start with the traditional Captain vs Vice Captains’ match at the Easter weekend.
The club reports, “The green is in great condition and although it was a bit slow that weekend, the speed of the green has been getting faster with each game played.
“The Men’s teams are well into their league fixtures, including a rather chilly Wilts 4 X 4 match last week. There have been two well supported Mixed Friendly matches and the club recently travelled to Tetbury on 7th May. They are now looking forward to their first home fixture on 14th May.
“Ladies’ Fixtures begin on 12th May and we have a full programme to look forward to. We are also hosting Specsavers as a thanks for their continued support.
“We held a very successful Ladies’ Morning on 30th April and welcomed four new members to the Ladies’ Section. We are looking forward to integrating them into the teams as the season progresses.
“If you missed our Open Morning, then please join us on Sunday 29th May, 10am to 1pm, as part of Bowls England Big Weekend. This morning has been made possible with the kind support of Melksham Motor Spares and Specsavers.”
