Police are continuing to urgently appeal for CCTV and dash cam footage of the collision in the town centre on Saturday which left two women with life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened in Lowbourne at around 1.30pm on Saturday 27th September when a white Ford Transit van, which the driver was reversing, collided with two female pedestrians in their 70s.
Both pedestrians were taken to hospital, where they remain with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from Melksham, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
The investigation is being led by the police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT).
PC Leigh Mayhew, from SCIT, said, “This is a really serious incident which has left two elderly women fighting for their lives in hospital.
“We are really keen to hear from anyone who might have captured CCTV or Dash Cam footage of the incident to help with the investigation.

“A number of witnesses were also spoken to at the scene but it’s believed there may be other witnesses who were perhaps driving by who we haven’t spoken with yet.
