A FAMILY-run motorsport team based on Bowerhill has rounded off a landmark year in the JCW Mini Challenge, securing a string of podium places and finishing second in the overall team standings.
Pro Alloys Racing, who compete against some of the largest operations in the championship, say it’s their most successful season to date. The JCW Mini Challenge is one of the UK’s premier one-make championships, with all drivers racing identical Mini cars. The series runs at major UK circuits such as Donington, Brands Hatch and Silverstone, sharing weekends with the British Touring Car Championship and enjoying live coverage on ITV.

“We are delighted to report a highly successful year in the JCW Mini Challenge,” said Nina Greenland who runs the team with her husband Neil. “As a small, family-run team competing against multi-million-pound outfits, we achieved several podium finishes, resulting in us taking second place in the overall team standings.”
The season saw rising talent Max Edmundson claim the Rookie Trophy in his debut year and securing the runner-up spot in the overall championship.
The team’s breakthrough weekend came at Knockhill in August, where they celebrated a double podium. Melksham racer Owen Hillman took third overall, his best result in the championship, while teammate Max secured the win.
Owen, who grew up in the town and attended Aloeric Primary School and Melksham Oak Community School, described that weekend as a turning point in his six-year career. “Finishing on the podium came as a bit of a shock, but it was an incredible weekend,” he said at the time. “To share the podium with Max was amazing – first and third for the team. Hopefully, this is the start of many more wins.”
Another highlight came off the track, with the team receiving the Best Presented Team in the Paddock award. “It is a significant achievement for us, as all our car wraps and decals are designed and applied in-house after hours by my son and fellow driver, Owen,” said Nina.
The team now hope the strong season will help drive further progress on and off the track, with sponsorship remaining vital for future plans.
