A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a single vehicle collision with a substation on Coronation Road on Monday 2nd February.
At around 9.50am, Wiltshire Police received a report that a silver BMW had collided with roadside furniture.
Wiltshire Police said, “The driver had left the scene but was located shortly after nearby. He was breathalysed and blew over the limit and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
“He was further arrested on suspicion of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
“He has been taken to hospital as a precaution and will then be questioned in connection with the incident.
“The road was closed for recovery of the vehicle and for the roadside furniture to be assessed and has now reopened.”
Residents reported a power cut in the area following the incident.
