A NEW collection point is open at the Town Hall, collecting items for the project Re:Fresh that seek to help provide toiletry and sanitary items to children and young people in need.
Re:Fresh currently work with several schools across the Wiltshire and Somerset area. Many students face complex circumstances and challenges throughout their school years and sometimes their basic needs are not met.
The collection point is available for you to donate items such as shampoo, shower gel, soap, a flannel, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, sanitary items or a brush. The Re:Fresh project can then distribute these items to those in need and offer support and empower young people to care of themselves.
In their first year of the project, established in 2015, they distributed approximately 250 wash bags to local youth, making a huge difference to a lot of young people in the area.
To help the scheme you can use the new collection point in the Town Hall to offer donations of unused toiletries or you can donate financially to Re:Fresh. For example, £10 will provide a well-equipped toiletry bag for one person in need. You can do this by texting REFR00 £10 to 70070 or by visiting community actionwestwilts.org.

There are more donation points located around Wiltshire and Somerset, including Trowbridge at the Information Centre in St Stephens Place or One Stop in Silver Street Lane, Frome, at the Town Hall on Christchurch St West or Westbury Boots on the High Street (they only accept Boots-bought items here) or The Laverton Institute on Bratton Road, Westbury.
