It may have been a rainy day on Wednesday 24th April, but Abi live-in (part of the Abicare group) provided a ray of sunshine at Bowerhill Village Hall as they hosted a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – filled to the brim with beautiful decor, delicious teas and coffees and scrumptious cakes.
As well as providing home care and live-in care, some of the staff at Abicare have taken part in a number of charity events, including cycling the equivalent of Mount Everest to raise funds for the Trussell Trust.
Abicare also pride themselves on getting their clients out and about into the community, which is why they were proud to host a Tea Party for their senior citizen clients.
A wonderful time was had by all and activities included nail painting, potting fuchsias and marigold plants and playing games of giant Connect 4.
Copious amounts of food and drink were consumed, and the cakes were a hit with one client who enjoyed not one, but three cakes!
Abicare had the pleasure of meeting a couple of representatives from the NHS and were extremely thrilled to hear such lovely feedback from their clients.
One client was having such a wonderful time that she stayed longer than she had originally intended to, although she still made it home in time for her tea!
Events like this are so important in ensuring that senior citizens continue to engage with, and be a part of, the local community. This helps to alleviate isolation and helps with keeping the brain active.
Abicare look forward to hosting similar events throughout the year, and everyone, young and old are welcome to attend!
