A care home in Melksham welcomed residents, families and friends for an evening of entertainment with a vibrant bingo night.
Blenheim House, part of the Berkley Care Group, organised the event hosted by drag queen Miss Lucy Luscious Lips on Friday 13th March.
Events manager Chris Preston said, “Despite the date being considered unlucky by some, the evening proved anything but, with a full house and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the home. Residents enjoyed several lively rounds of bingo, with a variety of prizes up for grabs, including a decorative dog statue for one lucky resident’s room.
“Between bingo rounds, Miss Lucy entertained the crowd by singing well-known songs, encouraging everyone to join in. The music soon had residents joining in and on their feet, with some even taking to the dance floor as the room filled with laughter and applause.”
One resident shared the following day that she had ‘never laughed so much’, adding that her family would have to see the photos to believe she had taken part in her very first Drag Bingo.
Chris said, “Events like these are proudly hosted at Blenheim House to create joyful, inclusive experiences for residents and their loved ones, while celebrating diversity and welcoming members of the LGBTQ+ community into the home.”
