Makers’ market returns for final outdoor event

The Melksham Makers’ Market will return to the Market Place on Saturday 26th September from 9am to 2pm.

The September event will be the final outdoor Makers’ Market of 2026 before the popular local market moves indoors for its Christmas Market in November.

Organised by local business owners Nicola Coleman, from The Secret Crocheter, and Sarah Hillman, from Florrie and Jean, the not-for-profit market brings together independent makers and small businesses from Melksham and the surrounding area.

Nicola and Sarah said, “We always take August off, so by the time September comes around, we’re really looking forward to getting everyone back together again. It’s lovely seeing our regular traders and customers return, as well as welcoming people who might be visiting the market for the first time.

“We’ve been incredibly lucky with the weather this year – we’re almost frightened to say it out loud! We’re keeping everything crossed for one more lovely Saturday in September before the gazebos are packed away for another year.”

Visitors can expect another varied line-up of local traders, with handmade gifts, artwork, jewellery, flowers, cakes and sweet treats, skincare, local honey, coffee and plenty more available throughout the day.

Now in its eighth year, the Melksham Makers’ Market has also developed a strong community of traders and regular visitors.

Nicola and Sarah added, “The market has become so much more than somewhere to shop. There are friendships that have grown through it, traders who support and buy from each other and customers who come back month after month and know our traders by name. That community side of the market is something we’re really proud of.”
