Staffing pressures have affected postal deliveries in Melksham, with residents across the town reporting ongoing delays.
Some say they have gone more than a week without receiving any post, only for several letters to arrive together.
One Melksham East resident said birthday cards sent to her daughter arrived five days late after more than a week without any post. Another reported receiving a hospital letter after the appointment date.
Complaints have also come from Bowerhill. The concerns follow similar reports last year, when residents described delays affecting both standard and first-class post.
Royal Mail acknowledged the issues and said the company was working to improve the service.
A spokesperson said, “We know how important it is that customers receive their mail when expected, particularly important items such as hospital appointments.
“We have experienced resourcing pressures in Melksham, which have affected some deliveries. We are working to bring in additional staff, including agency support, to improve the service and deliver any outstanding mail as quickly as possible.
“Despite these challenges, services across the wider SN postcode area, which includes Melksham, have improved. Over the past 12 months, First Class next-working-day delivery performance has risen from 72.4% to 86.3%.
“We know there is more to do, and our priority is providing a reliable and consistent service for local customers.”
