Aloeric celebrate best ever Ofsted report

ALOERIC pupils and staff are celebrating after they were awarded a ‘good’ rating following a recent Ofsted inspection. 

The primary school has seen many improvements in recent times and the new rating is a step up from the previous rating of ‘satisfactory.’

The Ofsted report paid particular praise to the headteacher, Matthew Nightingale, for his leadership of the school and his impact. The improvement shown by each pupil from the moment they arrived had also been noted by inspectors.

In their report Ofsted said, “The school’s position has strengthened considerably since the previous inspection, as a result of the committed and determined leadership of the headteacher, with good support by the two assistant headteachers, other leaders and the governing body. This results in the clear and purposeful direction set for the school. Senior leaders and governors communicate high expectations and an ambitious vision for the school.”

Matthew Nightingale, headteacher at Aloeric said, “This is really a whole school success – the great staff and governor team, alongside the very supportive parents we have at Aloeric. This really helps the children to make the very best progress possible.

“This is the best inspection report Aloeric has received in modern Ofsted history. It is even more significant, given the challenges of implementing the new national curriculum and assessment procedures this year.

“This has taken two years of very concentrated, determined work on behalf of all staff, to bring standards up to the very challenging bar for a ‘Good’ judgement by Ofsted nowadays. Aloeric has been on a long journey to reach the consistently good school that you see today.

“We were particularly pleased when the lead inspector told us of how rare it was to see every teacher in every class showing such consistently high standards with their teaching, the pupils’ work and the progress they had made.”

Chair of Governors David Willis was very happy with the report. He said, “I cannot begin to say how pleased the governing body of Aloeric is with the result of this inspection. Over the last two years the governors have united to form a team that can and has helped the school to this achievement.

“Personally, I have been able to help with the data framework within the school, to such an extent that the teachers, senior leadership team and the governors can monitor the pupils’ progress six times a year. This has helped the school to introduce new monitoring and assessment structures that have given such a good result. We will not stop here. There is one more level to the Ofsted grading – Outstanding!”
