Search begins for this year’s carnival royalty.
Melksham Carnival is hosting an afternoon tea next month, which will set the stage for the climax to the search for this year’s carnival royal family.
The afternoon tea will be held on Saturday 21st March at the Kings Arms, Market Place, from 12pm to 4pm – and attendees will witness the crowning of this year’s carnival royalty, who will take centre stage at this year’s procession on Saturday 4th July.
Organisers say, “This year’s royalty are our Queen (aged 18+); Princess, (from school year 7 to 17 years old); Butterfly Princess (from school year 4 to 6), Fairy Princess (from reception age up to school year 3), and carnival Page (from reception age up to school year 6).”
Entry fee to the carnival selection is £3.50. Entry for spectators is by donation.
