COMEDY star and TV host Alan Carr treated his Melksham fans as he met and chatted to the audience before performing on stage.
A capacity crowd of 448 attended the show at Assembly Hall as Alan Carr tried out some new material ahead of a UK tour called Yap, Yap, Yap! which is to take place next year.
He follows other well-known comedians who have come to Melksham, with big names such as Lee Evans, Andy Parsons and Jethro appearing recently.
Miriam Zaccarelli from Melksham Town Council said, “The evening was a huge success. We have received positive feedback from Alan who thoroughly enjoyed himself and has said he would be open to returning to Melksham.
“He chatted to some of the audience before the show started and it seemed that everybody loved his performance. There was a nice moment when halfway through the show he allowed the audience to take pictures and allowed someone in the front row to get a selfie with him. It is great that these big names want to come to Melksham time and time again, it shows how much the town is moving forwards.”
Alice-Rose Schofield from Melksham was the lucky audience member who had a selfie with Alan Carr. She said, “He was brilliant! He’s one of my favourite TV presenters and comedians so it really did make my day when he came out and said we can take photo’s! I just took advantage of being sat on the front row and asked for a selfie and he said yes and was fortunate to be one of the only ones to have one!
“I tweeted him thanking him for it and he tweeted me back saying ‘my pleasure Xx’ which made me even happier!!
“I work at the Assembly Hall and think it’s brilliant how they get acts such as Alan Carr to perform there!”
