Atworth WI had a busy May meeting celebrating its 25th anniversary with wine and nibbles, and discussing dementia care, supermarket food waste, and an upcoming day trip.
President Helen Snowball reports, “After the business part of the meeting we discussed the issues that the National WI will be considering at its AGM in June. These were care of patients with dementia in hospital, and food waste from supermarkets.
“We had a sales table where members brought cakes, plants, preserves and other items so that we could boost our funds.
“As it is our 25th anniversary we celebrated with wine, nibbles and a beetle drive.
“Before the next meeting we are visiting Westonbirt Gardens and having afternoon tea.
“The speaker at our meeting on Monday June 20th will be Dr Francis Burroughs. The title of his talk is ‘Things you miss about Paris’. We always welcome new members. Our meetings are on the third Monday of the month at Atworth Village Hall at 7.30 pm.”
