ONCE again, the Melksham community has rallied round in style and helped raise a record amount for the town’s Poppy Appeal.
For the third year running the people of Melksham have raised over £20,000 for the Poppy Appeal, and this year’s total has soared past the £21,000 mark with money still coming in.
Kenneth Graham of the Royal British Legion and organiser of Melksham’s Poppy Appeal said, “Once again the people of Melksham have shown how generous they are. We are thrilled with the amount and we’ve still got money coming in, it’s amazing.
“We are very grateful to the people of Melksham and to all the sellers and helpers this year. All the funds raised go towards health and welfare support for our ex-service people and their families.”
