MELKSHAM Lions Club has apologised after it had to cancel a concert with the Maesteg Choir last month due to poor ticket sales.
Lion Peter Dauncey said, “It was with great regret that we had to cancel the Maesteg Choir Concert that was planned for the 25th June at the Spencer Club due to lack of ticket sales.
“Up until a week prior to the concert only 40 tickets had been sold. The club have expressed their sincere apologies to the choir and Spencers Social club for the short notice of the cancellation.
“The Maesteg Choir have entertained us here in Melksham for over 20 years and we would like to thank those who have supported us over the years.
“Apologies are extended, with a full refund, to those who had purchased tickets. The concert was one of the main fundraising events for the Melksham Lions Clubs charity work, and it will take a lot of hard work to fill this gap in their income.
“Whilst concerned we are not daunted, and look forward to seeking out new ventures to enable Melksham Lions to continue helping and aiding worthwhile local causes.”
