MELKSHAM Area Board awarded a number of community grants to local clubs, groups and organisations at their meeting earlier this month.
A total of £8,735.52 was given away at the meeting held on Wednesday 11th April.
The grants were awarded to:
Melksham Air Cadets, who were given £2,500 towards a new minibus for the 2385 squadron.
Acreshort Community Park Committee were awarded £4,000 towards the Acreshort Community Park project, which intends to create a community space in Steeple Ashton.
Primrose Residents Action Group received £975.52 towards the development of Primrose Drive Nature Reserve.
The area board also awarded further funding for two ‘wellbeing’ grants:
Carers Support Wiltshire were awarded £630 towards a Community Connections project.
Melksham & District Seniors Forum also received £630 towards their Older Persons’ Health and Wellbeing Programme for an ‘age-friendly’ Melksham.
