ARTWORK which has been donated to the Art House Cafe in Melksham by Andrew Stubbs, drawn by his late father, Alan, will raise money for the Rotary Club.
Andrew and his two brothers, Ian and Martyn, fondly remember their father doodling away when they were children. “He was always drawing something, he had a passion for life and art,” said Andrew.
“He sadly passed peacefully away last year at home, but right up until he died, he was still drawing. He loved sitting and colouring with his grandchildren.
“In his memory we are offering his pictures for sale and would like all the money raised to go the Rotary Club to then be distributed to local charities, including Dorothy House.”
Patricia Lockett who is the art exhibition organiser said, “We are very lucky to have the art displayed in the cafe and considering he had no training at all, he was a very gifted amateur.”
Andrew continued, “He was a lovely person and he would be so thrilled to see his art displayed here. He would have loved the Art House Cafe as well. It is a shame that he never visited.”
The exhibition ends on the 30th of May. For more information, call Patricia Lockett on 01225 938906 or 07936 393881
