The Atworth History Group has organised a walk around Atworth’s parish boundary in October.
The walk will take place on Saturday 5th October, starting at 9.30am.
The history group says, “We do this every five years, so we like to let as many people know as possible that it’s taking place because under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t be possible to walk the parish boundary since a lot of it is on private land.
“Meet in the field opposite Pie Corner (between Mount Pleasant and Lowden’s Garden Centre). Parking is available in the field if required. Please bring a drink and a packed lunch – also waterproofs if rain is forecast!
“Most of the walk will be across fields, so please wear appropriate footwear. There will be a car waiting every time we cross a road, so if you feel unable to continue walking, someone will take you back to the village.
“Please note, you will be walking at your own risk as we do not have any insurance. Also, much of the walk is not on footpaths so it is only possible by the kind permission of the landowners. Unfortunately, because of this, dogs will not be allowed on the walk. Only come on the walk if you are prepared to accept these conditions.
“If the weather is really awful, the walk will be postponed for a week. For further information please contact Jim Gooding on 01225 782090.”
