Since the Lion year started in July 2018, Melksham Lions club has enrolled three new members, so it is with renewed enthusiasm that they plan this year’s events.
“We start with an Easter egg raffle in local pubs and establishments, the main beneficiary being the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. These giant Easter eggs will be on display from early April in the following places:- Refa Tandoori, The Pilot in Bowerhill, The White Hart in Atworth, The Somerset Arms in Semington, The Toast Office in Whitley, Meads of Melksham, Lowden Garden Center, The Pig and Whistle,The Harp and Crown in Gastard and Absolute Tool Hire.
“We are having a party and Easter egg hunt for the children who are in temporary accommodation, somewhere we have been helping for more than four years.
“See us at events such as Party in the Park, the River Festival, Seend Fete etc, win a lion on the tombola or try our lucky dip.
Have a chat with us and find out what Lions are all about, especially if you are new to the area – it’s a great way to make new friends and discover how you could make a real difference to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Lions meet at the Pilot in Bowerhill on the second Tuesday of the month starting at 8pm, come along, you will be made most welcome. Contact us on 08458 337401 or email president@melkshamlions.org.uk
