A MUSIC event which has been running for several decades has raised £1,700 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The Mike Smith Big Band in Concert has entertained hundreds of people and raised around £15,000 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, with the latest concert raising the sum of £1,700 for the charity.
Dennis Overton who organises the events said, “The evening was brilliant and lots of people have said how much they enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event and helped raise money for a worthy charity.
“It is something that I have always loved organising as I really enjoy big band music. We have raised thousands over the years for the charity as it needs regular support to keep running.”
Mike Smith will be stepping down as leader of the big band but guitarist Al Steele will be taking over. Preparations are already being made for the next event which takes place at Christmas.
