MELKSHAM’S town Christmas tree has arrived and taken up residence in the Market Place, with some local people saying it looks like Melksham’s tallest ever town Christmas tree.
Last year was thought to be the tallest tree, but onlookers as the tree was being erected last week, said they felt this year’s could be bigger.
It was chosen, organised and decorated by Melksham’s Christmas Lights Group, who are volunteers that each year turn Melksham into a festive wonderland.
As the tree was put up in the Market Place on Friday 28th of November, Paul Weymouth, from Melksham Christmas Lights Group said, “It is a great looking tree and we are pleased with it. I am not sure if it’s the tallest but it’s up there.”
The tree was transported from Longleat on the back of a flat bed lorry.
