BLENHEIM House Care Home in Melksham has celebrated the 100th year birthday of one of their residents.
Sybil Barry enjoyed a day of activities, socially distanced parties with residents and staff and even had drone flyovers to record her special day!
Sybil said, “Oh what a marvellous day I’ve had. I’ve had so many presents and cards I don’t know what to do with them all! The staff here have treated me like a queen, I’ve even been given a crown and a sash to show off to everyone.
The home has been running socially distanced garden visits in their Lavender and Roses family areas, and Sybil loved seeing her family again. Her daughter Dawn Mcquillian said, “Thank you so much to the staff at Blenheim house, Mum really enjoyed her day, it was lovely seeing her old flamboyant self.”
Chris Guest, lifestyle and communities lead at the care home, has praised the home’s safety measures saying, “It’s fantastic that our home is able to facilitate our relatives back to see their loved ones safely; families are such a vital part of the residents’ lives. Sybil has thoroughly enjoyed her day and we are so honoured to spend time learning about this wonderful lady’s life.
“We are scheduling in family visits seven days a week, and have created some beautiful visiting areas for them, all of course with social distancing and infection control measures in place – it’s a joy to see our residents reconnecting with their loved ones.”
