MELKSHAM Assembly Hall is set to show more live entertainment, as well as blockbuster films on its very own big screen.
On Friday 23rd May at 7pm a National Theatre Live performance will screen The curious incident of the dog in the night-time, tickets cost £10. On Thursday 12th June at 7pm another National Theatre Live performance will come to Melksham with the screening of A Small Family business, tickets are £10.
The next cinema screenings at Assembly Hall are: Saturday 24th May, 10.30am, The Lego Movie 2D (U). Friday 6th June, 7.30pm, The Grand Budapest Hotel (15) and Friday 20th June, 7.30pm, Yves Saint Laurent (15).
For all showings tickets at 10.00am are £3 for under 15s and £4 for adults. All tickets from 5.00pm are £6 each. Doors open 30 minutes before the show and there is a licensed bar, tea and coffees.
Synopsis:
The Lego Movie 2D (U): This original computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (15): Grand Budapest Hotel recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune.
Yves Saint Laurent (15): Paris, 1957. 21 year old Yves is catapulted to international stardom as the successor to Christian Dior who has recently died. At his first catwalk show he meets Pierre Bergé, who will become his lover and business partner, and begins a relationship that will change his life forever.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Screening): Christopher, fifteen years old, has an extraordinary brain – exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs Shears’ dog Wellington, he records each fact about the event in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of the murder.
A Small Family Business (Live Screening): Jack McCracken: a man of principle in a corrupt world. But not for long. Moments after taking over his father-in-law’s business he’s approached by a private detective armed with some compromising information. Jack’s integrity fades away as he discovers his extended family to be thieves and adulterers, looting the business from their suburban homes. Rampant self-interest takes over and comic hysteria builds to a macabre climax.
