THE winners for this year’s Melksham in Bloom competition have been crowned and praised for the efforts they have made to bring vibrant displays of flora and fauna to the town.
The winners were: Large Front Garden first, Pina Coombes; Small Front Garden first, Bryan and Veronica Sandford, second, Arthur Ephgrave; Large Rear Garden first, Pina Coombes, second, Mary Saunders; Small Rear Garden first, David Walker; Courtyard, first, Michael Clarke, second, Patsy Clover; External Display with no Garden first, David Walker, second, Nikki Rowe.
Best Single Tub/container first, Nikki Rowe, second, David Walker; Best Single Hanging Basket first, Nikki Rowe, second, Veronica Sandord; Best Garden Feature Involving Water first, Arthur Ephgrave, second, Bryan and Veronica Sanford.
Best External Floral Display first, Market Tavern and second, The Bear. Best Shop Window Display first, Dorothy House and second, Cobblers Bench; Best Street first, Mobile Home Park, second, Woodcombe.
The competition was organised by a community working group, that took it over due to pressures at Melksham Town Council.
