Bluebells Mane Attraction for Longleat’s Lockdown Lions

WITH no visitors to keep them entertained Longleat Safari Park’s lions are making the most of the spring weather with a spot of sunbathing amongst the bluebells.

The Wiltshire wildlife attraction’s most famous residents are clearly enjoying the April sunshine, which has seen their woodland home carpeted with a stunning display of the native wildlfowers.

The majority of native bluebells are found in old and ancient woodlands – sites that have been continuously wooded for at least four centuries. It is thought that more than half the world’s bluebell population is found in the UK.

In 1966 Longleat caused a revolution in the world of zoological collections by becoming the first place outside Africa to open a drive through Safari Park.
