Even though it was a hot day BMCC were unsurprisingly asked to bat, given their poor form with the bat this season.
The decision was soon justified as the pace of Borton and accuracy of Tayler made runs very difficult to come by and had the home side struggling on 24/3 off 14 overs.
The 4th wicket partnership of Matt Hunt and Ben Brown had to be patient if they were to rebuild and this they were as runs started to flow a little more quickly.
The partnership had reached 81 when Brown (31) was run out. Hunt continued to up the run rate until he was 9th man out for 62. The home sides score of 147/9 looked a gettable score.
The home side’s bowlers needed to build pressure early and although Dean Wallington took 3 early wickets the batsmen were scoring at over 4 an over.
Wickets continued to fall as the batsmen appeared to want to win inside 25 overs, only P. Borton (43) showed any patience as Hinton were dismissed for 128,
