On another sweltering afternoon BMCC had no hesitation in batting, although there were some doubts as the bounce was very unpredictable from the start.
BMCC lost an early wicket but skipper Dean Wallington (28) and Paul Gilbert (41) took the attack to the bowlers.
Wallington departed with the score on 56, which brought Ben Brown to the crease. There was no let up in the onslaught as the ball continued to fly to the boundary, until Gilbert departed in the 16th over with the score on 98.
Brown and Steve Rendell (18) added 55 for the 4th wicket before Rendell was caught.
John Wiltshire then took up the attack, as another partnership took shape, until Brown departed for a hard hitting 69.
Once Wiltshire (31) was out with the score on 216 the rest of the innings fell away as the last three wickets fell for 13 runs with the innings closing on a slightly disappointing 229.
When Collingbourne batted they were soon struggling as Ben Brown, bowling with pace and Andy Footner swinging the ball were almost unplayable in the early overs. After a couple of early wickets Atkinson (39) and Gittings (42) put on 70 for the 3rd wicket, until the introduction of John Wiltshire changed the game. He ripped through the middle order, taking 6 for 40 in 7 overs, resulting in Collingbourne being all out for 163.
