Thirty club members assembled at the Broughton Gifford Bowls Green for the first time this year on 8th August to meet, have a chat and play bowls.
The club reports, “This was made possible following the easing of Government and Bowls England safety restrictions regarding Covid-19.
“The greenkeepers, who are also club members, had done brilliantly in preparing the playing surface to a very high standard, especially given the spell of wet weather that had occurred at the beginning of the week.
“The long period of inactivity due to Covid-19 and the warm sunshine during the past few days had whetted the appetite of the members who were eager to play outdoor bowls again.
“As intended, the event proved to be a light hearted affair with much laughter and good humour accompanying proceedings. Time soon caught up however, and activities came to an end much too quickly. Everybody agreed that it was a most enjoyable afternoon and that the occasion was a great success. It is hoped to arrange a similar get together of club members on 12th September.”
