HOLT Sports Courts were a hive of activity on Monday May 2nd with a chance to try out bowls, tennis and pickleball – a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
“Richard from Pickleball UK aided by our own local expert, David Cullop, gave excellent coaching to many and we hope to promote this family-friendly sport very soon on our courts,” said Heather Newman, secretary of Holt Sports and Recreation Committee.
“Thanks to Jamie Butt and the many representatives from Holt Bowls Club who gave their time and patience to promote tennis and bowling respectively.
“A cake sale in support of the Red Cross Ukrainian Crisis Appeal raised £367; we have very generous people in this area.
“Special thanks to Holt Bowling Club for the use of the clubhouse and everyone who brought a contribution or purchased the goodies.
“We now all need to work off the calories enjoying our local facilities!”
