THE Great Chalfield 10k at Broughton Gifford, which hosted the fourth race of the Wiltshire Road Race League, was dominated by runners from Avon Valley Running (AVR) club, based in Trowbridge.
Leading home the record field was Edward Knudsen in a time of 34:22 ahead of club mate Damien Spreckley and Simon Gilbert of Devizes Running Club. In the Ladies race AVR took a clean sweep with Veryan Cranston leading home in 42:49 ahead of Philippa Brewer and Fiona Price.
Age group awards went to: 1st MV40 – Edward O’Gorman from City of Salisbury A&RC; 1st MV50 – Alwyn Royal of Chippenham Harriers; 1st FV40 – Helen Gibbs of Calne Running Club; 1st FV50 – Alison Graham of Corsham Running Club.
Avon Valley Runners claimed both team prizes in the race which was raising funds for Broughton Gifford and Holt Scout Group.
