This year’s 4th Annual BG Games will take place in the village of Broughton Gifford on Saturday 1st August.
The organisers report, “Our sponsor, on this occasion, is the Cardiff-based wine importer, Fine Wines Direct UK.
“There will be more than 30 events that you can enter, taking place at five locations around the village.
“Any profits made during the day will go towards the refurbishment of play equipment in the village and the installation of an eco-loo in St. Mary’s Church.
“The day starts on The Common at 10.00am with Welly Whanging, Paper Plate Discus, Putting the Cabbage, Precision Frisbee Throwing, Penalty Shoot-out, Egg Hurling and a Dog Agility Competition.
“At 11.30am we move to the Bell on the Common for Boules, Speed Pool, Darts and a Treasure Hunt. There will also be a barbecue for those who have worked up an appetite. Thirsts can also be satisfied!
“At 1.00pm, the village hall is the scene for New Age Kurling and Skittles and at 3.00pm we move to The Old Manor Paddock for children’s sports, which this year will include archery and a tin can shy.
“The final events are at The Fox, where we finish with Mackerel Juggling, Golf Chipping, Babyfoot, or table-top football and a Yard of Ale, (or water for the less ambitious) competition.
“The medals ceremony will take place at 6.30pm in the village hall, with their presentation by our MP Michelle Donelan.
“This is a day full of fun with events to suit all from four to eighty + and more than 150 medals to be won. Further information can be obtained from Christopher Fielden on 01225 782509.”
