VOLUNTEERS are still needed to help replace the overgrown and dangerous pathways in Brunswick Park.
Work began on the park over the August Bank Holiday weekend with nearly 20 volunteers joining chair of the Friends of Brunswick Park group, Tracy Haslam. Tracy was awarded £4,000 after applying for community funding through a scheme called ‘Your Pint Can’ run by Carling and Wetherspoons.
“We have now dug almost 80 metres and are very proud of ourselves, if a little achy!” said Tracy. “Even the local children have chipped in, serving refreshments, painting benches and even digging, in some cases.
“But we still need more volunteers to help on Saturday 16th September as this is when we will start laying the paths in the trenches we have dug.
“All help is appreciated. Many hands make light work!”
